Coco
Coco is a one year old rescue of the "Red White Blue Dog Training After Government Service", Nonprofit Organization who was found as a very pregnant stray in California. Shortly after arrival at the shelter, this tiny 40 lb beauty delivered 19 puppies. Once her puppies were weaned, she was scheduled for euthanasia. Thankfully, she was pulled and placed in foster.
She was residing with a foster in a high-risk fire area of California when evacuation became necessary in January 2025 due to the fires. We are happy to be able to give Coco a safe place to call home while she waits to be spayed and to begin her service dog training.
Within days of her arrival, Coco started her first heat cycle after having an extra large litter of puppies in September of 2024. It's always best to wait 2 months post cycle for spay when inflammation is at its lowest to reduce the chance of a life-threatening bleed, reduce the pain and discomfort associated with the procedure and shorten recovery time. For this reason, Coco will be with Misfit Ranch until she is ready for spay late March and will spend her recovery with us as well. Once recovered, she will be ready for placement.
The Misfit Ranch family truly believes in community and that those who help others, sometimes need a little help themselves. This is why we frequently assist other organizations that service our community by providing training, education, nutritional services, referrals, donations, transports and foster services when we can.

Red White Blue Dog Training After Government Service (R.W.B. Dog T.A.G.S.) is a Non-Profit 501(c)3 Organization with chapters in NV, PA, and WV. They strive to have a positive impact on our U.S. Combat Veterans as well as save the lives of homeless animals. By bringing them together, they help them forge a bond and give them hope. In pairing rescued dogs with veterans, they create teams that understand each other. They've both been through some tough times but keep going - happier together than alone.

Their efforts are focused on both qualifying Veterans and the Service Dogs they are partnered with. They accomplish this through training, mentorship, camaraderie and socialization. They also assist low income veterans with dog and cat food, medical and pet deposits for homeless veterans transitioning into housing.

Their Service Dogs are Public Access Tested, Canine Good Citizen Awarded, and then further trained for the specific skills and tasks needed by each Veteran.
