Enzo
Enzo was born on December 28th, 2020.

Enzo was abandoned by his original owner when the family moved out of the country. He was turned away by numerous rescues due to his reactivity and euthanasia was offered by local shelters because they did not have the people needed to care for a highly reactive dog.

After taking over Enzo's care we discovered he had been previously sent to a local trainer where he was locked in a dark room alone for an undetermined amount of time and deprived of food for days as a punishment for poor performance. He was also the victim of improper and overuse of training tools. This may have been where his reactivity started but the medical issues that followed amplified the problem. Thankfully, the trainer responsible for this mistreatment is no longer in business.

Nutritional evaluation and medical testing revealed he was allergic to the food he had been fed and was 15 pounds underweight. He had one of the worst UTIs the veterinarian had seen in a long time and required extensive treatment to recover. While part of his reactivity may have stemmed from abuse and neglect, it was also partly due to the amount of pain he was in.

Since Enzo has been with us he has received a nutritional evaluation with a food change to better suit what he needs along with medical care and medication. He spent quite some time in training to build confidence, learn obedience and for behavior modification.
Enzo is in good health and up to date on vaccinations. We had him chipped and neutered in August of 2023. His latest weigh in was 79 lbs.
Enzo is house trained, crate trained and has basic obedience.
He has a variety of commands he'd love to show off to you.
Enzo is now a very happy and healthy boy who loves a variety of activities. He is a high-drive dog who needs a strong handler that can provide him the mental stimulation, structure and exercise he needs. Experience with working line shepherds and spacial resourcing guarding of any kind would be ideal.
He loves to play ball, work through his obedience, go for a run, go on hikes, run on our DogPacer, and more.

He is owner centric, devoting all of his attention to his "person" making him an extremely loyal and loving companion.

Enzo has done well with children of all ages and dogs of all sizes but we would need to test his tolerance of cats, should you have one.
